Laura Barnes, CPP

Founder and CEO  – Certified Payments Professional

After raising her two children, Laura ventured into the mortgage lending field, spending five years there before she was recruited into the payments industry by Heartland Payments Systems. She was drawn to the payments industry because she valued serving as a trusted financial partner for business owners, Controllers, and CFOs to create solutions to complex payment situations.

As a Territory Manager at Heartland, Laura focused primarily on developing payments solutions for B2B clients and building referral relationships with associations, banks, SaaS vendors, and others. She attained the highest sales level in the company (Black Diamond) and earned Chairman’s Club status in multiple years. Laura left Heartland in 2017 to form Payfurther.

Kyle D. Henderson

Advisory Board Member

Kyle Henderson is an accomplished entrepreneur, advisor and executive with extensive experience in a wide array of industries. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in the development, growth and financing of a multitude of entrepreneurial and established ventures.

He is the Co-Founder and Advisory Board Member of the Opportunity Coalition™ nonprofit.  The Opportunity Coalition nonprofit is a 501(c)4 Social Welfare Organization that promotes and facilitates a business-friendly environment that encourages free enterprise, entrepreneurship and collaboration.

Kyle is the CEO and Co-Founder of Xcel Companies™.  Xcel Companies is a privately-held merchant solutions, procurement, expense-reduction and lending organization.

He also serves as Northstar Commercial Partners‘ Chief of Staff.  Founded in 2000, Northstar Commercial Partners is a privately-held commercial real estate investment organization that has grown to become one of the largest, strategic owners and acquirers of commercial real estate in the United States.

He is an Advisory Board Member for various, additional organizations that include, but are not limited to: The Opportunity Coalition (referenced above), PayFurther (payment processing), Community Funded™ (crowdfunding organization) and Teakoe® (high-end teas).

Kyle was one of the very first team members and Directors with the private jet organization, XJet®, where he helped to write the organization’s business plan.  XJet was honored and recognized as the #1 private jet company in North and South America by Aviation International News.

He is also the Former President of the Academy of Young Investors and enjoys investing in FOREX, precious metals and real estate.

Kyle is a Colorado Native and a first-generation Irish-American.

She has more than 20 years of experience building and maintaining relationships with senior-level executives of Fortune 1000 corporations, merchants, and value-added resellers.

Thanks to her passion, can do attitude, and intense work ethic, she has been instrumental in the success of two of the nation’s top 10 organizations in the e-commerce and payments industries.
Jose Vieitez

Advisory Board Member

Jose Vieitez is a cofounder and co-director of Boomtown Accelerator in Boulder, helping early stage startups expand and get funded. Jose is a Stanford graduate with a background in user experience design, and moved out to Colorado to chase his now wife, four years ago. He has previous experience with Google and more than a decade founding startups and as a serial entrepreneur.
